Green Rose Group was founded in 2020 by husband-and-wife duo Justine and Todd Green in Boca Raton, Florida.
Their vision for Green Rose is simple and powerful: they want to share stories that inspire and educate people about children who live with disabilities.
Dr. Justine Green, an educator and disability advocate, can now add author and member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators to her impressive resume.
Her first book, Completely Me, based on her own life and experience with Atresia and Microtia, served as a catalyst to create the newly-formed company, Green Rose Group LLC.
Justine Green, Ed.D. is an educator, author, and disability advocate based in Boca Raton, Florida, where she served as the Principal at Tamim Academy. Justine was born with Atresia and Microtia. Microtia is a condition where the outer ear does not develop properly and Atresia is the absence of the ear canal, leaving her deaf in her left ear. Knowing she was different from birth, and boasting three reconstructive surgeries under her belt, Justine learned to read lips and worked hard through school. She used her disability as motivation, and ultimately found her life’s purpose through these challenges.
Justine earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Miami, a Master of Arts in Education, Policy and Social Analysis from Teachers College, Columbia University and her Doctorate in Education in Higher Education Leadership focusing on students with disabilities. Dr. Green wrote her dissertation, "Effects of Institutional Factors on College Students’ Self-Disclosure of Disability Status and Their Utilization of Disability Services” while working as a learning specialist in the Office of Disability Services at the University of Miami. Throughout all of this, she found time to devote herself to motherhood, having two children while earning her doctorate. As an educator, she has taught in an inclusive classroom, worked as a learning specialist at the Camner Center for Academic Resources, and as the Director of Development for Torah Tots Early Childhood Center.
A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, she has published her first children’s book, Completely Me. Using her passion for inspiring others to be proud of who they are, Justine wrote the book to show children that their imperfections are what make them perfect. Completely Me, modeled after Justine’s own life and disability, is a call to understanding and acceptance of those who are different, and everyone’s unique qualities should be celebrated. "Completely Me" is now a 5x award-winning story and Justine has released three books since then: "Completely Emme: a Cerebral Palsy Story", "Completely Matt: an ADHD Story", and "Completely Toby: a Down Syndrome Story".
